Project Title
Epigenomic Profiling of Normal Human Breast Mammary Tissue Derived From Reduction Mammoplasties
Required
Project Description

This metadata is part of the Canadian Epigenetics, Environment and Health Research Consortium (CEEHRC) Network project's harmonized metadata set for breast mammary tissue samples. To generate the samples, histologically normal breast tissue was obtained with informed consent from eight healthy premenopausal adult female donors undergoing reduction mammoplasty surgeries and used according to procedures approved by the Research Ethics Board of the University of British Columbia. Fresh tissue was viably cryopreserved as enzymatically isolated organoids and then thawed and dissociated into single-cell suspensions and the four defined mammary cell types isolated by fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS): luminal cells (LCs), luminal progenitors (LPs), basal cells (BCs), and stromal cells (SCs), the latter consisting of a mixture of fibroblasts and adipocytes.

The 256 samples are composed of the following: 8 individuals × 4 cell types (LC, LP, BC, and SC) × 8 types of sequencing (ChIP-seq for H3K27ac, H3K4me1, H3K4me3, H3K36me3, H3K27me3, and H3K9me3, as well as WGBS and RNA-seq).

Metadata: https://www.ebi.ac.uk/epirr/ (e.g. https://www.ebi.ac.uk/epirr/epigenomes/IHECRE00004604.3 )

Raw data: e.g. https://ega-archive.org/datasets/EGAD00001006220 (with link to Data Access Request - specific to each dataset)
